The Golden Rule
Sunday, January 18th, 2009The Golden Rule in two parts:
1. We are One!
2. We create our world personally and collectively.
Everyone (or at least almost everyone) knows the Golden Rule. Do unto other as you would have them do to you or treat everyone the way you want to be treated. I hope this post will offer a deeper incite as to how the Golden Rule works.
Part one: We are one. We are really one big collective whole. Our world, like our bodies, has individual parts that all work together for the common good. If our heart decided it didn’t want to be in service of our body anymore, the body would die, including the heart. When one has an autoimmune disease, his immune system mistakes his body for something foreign or different and attacks it. Again, if not corrected, his immune system will kill the body including the immune system itself. This is what humans are doing to our world when we engage in war, violence, hatred, fear, gossip, bullying, etc. We think we are attacking an enemy, but we are really attacking ourselves. Once we understand this, it becomes very difficult to tolerate the idea of negative behavior. The good news is that once we understand this, it becomes easier to love our neighbor as ourselves, because we understand our neighbor is our Self. The more we understand this the more we feel at one with eveyone.
Part two: We create our world personally and collectively. By now many of us have heard of “The Law of Attraction”. The Law of Attraction is not just an idea that a mystic came up with. Physicists have known for some time now that the world we experience is created in and from our minds. We manifest what we think. Everything we see, feel, hear, taste, and smell, and everything we experience from events to relationships, we manifest with our thoughts. Most of us are unaware of the power of our thoughts so we walk through life manifesting unconsciously. When we begin to understand the power of thoughts, we begin to monitor our thoughts more closely and soon begin to see a change in our personal circumstances and outlook. Our collective thought, that is, our unified Thought, creates the bigger picture of our world. Because we have been living unconciously in thought for so many years, we really have created a mess of pollution, violence, and the idea that we are each separate entities. This separateness makes us fearful of one another and the world around us. Our fearful thoughts manifest negative events including war, violence, class systems, disease, polluting behavior, negative weather patterns, global warming, etc. By monitoring all our thoughts, even our thoughts about the world around us, we can help change our world by manifesting peace and health. I compare this to riding a bike or driving a car. Typically when one is riding a bike or driving a car, his body automatically moves in a way (steering, braking, accelerating) to steer the vehicle in the direction the operator is looking. This is automatic and would take much concentration to steer in a direction one is not looking. In the same way, we manifest our world in the direction we are looking. When we look towards peace, the collective automatically responds to our direction. With this understanding we can fathom the power of our personal thoughts and their effect on our collective Thought. With every person who awakens to this truth, we alter our manifestations to become closer to a “heaven” experience.
Join me in manifesting the world we all deserve to live in!
I bow to the Divine in you! Namaste!
